Doubts About a Successful Male Fibromyalgia Protocol

doubt-321144_960_720In early July I wrote a blog, posted to this website and our Facebook page, about a wonderful success story about a young gentleman in Arizona who was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and had tried the usual “everything.” He had just about given up when he heard about the success our patients were having with our treatment program. His improvement has been so quick that one might wonder whether or not this patient actually was diagnosed properly.

He and his wife came in recently and again his progress over just two months has been heartwarming.  Pain, fatigue and almost of all his symptoms were either reduced appreciably or gone. This gentleman runs a landscaping company and he actively participates in the work. He did not find excuses in completing the protocol. When a certain food restriction or activity was required, he followed through and did it without any questions. To say the least it made my job much easier in guiding the patient through the procedure. Not all patients improve as quickly as this gentleman and this is usually due to secondary conditions, age, or the period of time that the condition has truly been active. Many patients have what I call a subset of fibromyalgia that just has low-lying symptoms until some trauma, physical, emotional, or chemical, causes a full-blown fibromyalgia reaction.

I knew that this “story” about the Arizona gentleman might cause a number of people with fibromyalgia to question not only the success of the patient mentioned above, yet also the fact that this was a male patient.  A gentleman from Canada responded to the post on fibromyalgia and men, and shared that he had tried the usual treatment and nothing seemed to work, which is what most of you might be thinking. Truth is sometimes difficult to separate from lies and fiction. After working with fibromyalgia patients since 1990, not all attempts to find a proper treatment program were a success. Not until 2006 was I able to finally develop a treatment program that really works for patients that are willing to “follow the protocol exactly.”

For the gentleman in Canada, history is really on the male side.  As I have mentioned before, fibromyalgia dates back to Biblical times as only men were mentioned as sufferers of the disease. Not until WWII were females mentioned in the context of having fibromyalgia. Today, there are probably as many men as women who have this disease. The difference is that most men, due to ego, go undiagnosed because of the lack of visitations to a doctor. Of course doctors misdiagnosing fibromyalgia is just as big a problem.

Our clinic works with a number of male fibromyalgia patients. So if you are a male who has been diagnosed or misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia and like the gentleman from Canada, are frustrated by lack of proper treatment, contact our clinic. Conversation is free. Being sick is no fun and why not try something that just might work for you. If you wish to speak to some of our patients, just contact our clinic for information to be able to communicate with these happy patients, both male and female.

Best wishes to all of you.

Dr. Ken
